The Datai Pledge is a Private Trust dedicated to improving the well-being of the environment, wildlife and local community of Langkawi. Initiated in 2019 to create a robust conservation and sustainability programme for The Datai Langkawi, the initiative aims to expand with future properties and locations.
The Four Pillars
The Datai Pledge comprises four pillars: Pure For The Future; Fish For The Future; Wildlife For The Future; and Youth For The Future, which respectively focus on our business operations and ethics; the marine life; the fauna and flora; and the children of the community.

Initiatives
All of our initiatives are aimed to support the overall goals of The Datai Pledge – to be an active instigator for sustainable change and regenerative travel; they range from community outreach projects, to adoption programmes, to projects to support our local flora and fauna. They are led by The Datai Pledge pillar leaders and teams, naturalists, marine biologists, and experts, including our visiting NGO and social enterprise partners.
